“I think he's a bigger figure than when the trial started,” Newt Gingrich said of former and future President Donald J. Trump on Laura Ingraham's “The Angle” in the wake of the “guilty” verdict late this afternoon in Lower Manhattan on all 34 trumped up felony counts.
I think the same. As do the countless souls who went to DonaldJTrump.com upon hearing the verdict to show their support of the once and future president of the United States, causing the site to crash. Lee Zeldin told Laura he secured a $800,000 contribution for Trump in the wake of the verdict.
Mike Allen calls the verdict a “Pyrrhic victory” because Trump will win in a landslide: People are waking up to the dire shape our nation is in. That political enemies would use, for their selfish purposes, the American judicicial system to try and jail their opponent who is a former President of the United States, and the leading presidential candidate for the 2024 election, up by massive margins in all the polls, is a sign, to quote HW Bush, of what “deep doo doo” we are in.
Trump's attorney, Todd Blanche, told Jesse Waters tonight that all of this lawfare began two months after Trump announced for the presidency. He announced on November 15, 2022, so the former and future president, as well as the country, have been enduring this torture since January 2023. If a Hollywood script was written with this plotline, it would be rejected out of hand.
Blanche said they will get right to work appealing as there is plenty of what is called “reversible error.” But, really, it should go right to the Supreme Court said Mark Levin last week sensing the impending conviction. He had the same message tonight on Sean Hannity. While it will be a tough hard slog, he said, expediting the appeal all the way to the Supreme Court, ex post haste, so was the Battle of the Bulge. And Gen. George S. Patton did not throw up his arms. No, he fought like hell. And we must do the same. We are just too deep into “Banana Republic” territory not to fight. This is election interference, of the highest order, plain and simple. And it can not stand. Otherwise we don't have a Republic.
On a personal note, I heard the sad news just after arriving in Birmingham about 4:55 p.m. Central Time for two TV interviews at EWTN. The last time I was on the EWTN campus staying in one of their lovely guest houses, another major news story, hours-long, was breaking: President Donald J. Trump's historic visit to North Korea with President Kim Jong Un—“little rocket man.” He was talking to Kim about behaving responsibly, thereby keeping the world safe. Now, we are weak, as “rocket man” is nuclear-saber-rattling again. Come November 5th, when President Trump wins in a landslide and is inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2025, God-willing, two years after all the lawfare began, we will, once again, be a stronger, safer America, and by extension a stronger, safer world.
God bless America. And God bless President Donald J. Trump.
