"Nearer My God to Thee" wake-up call for America
Did you see the Durham autopsy?
That is to say, the “Report on Matters Related to Intelligence Activities and Investigations Arising Out of the 2016 Presidential Campaigns,” which Special Counsel John H. Durham submitted to Attorney General Merrick B. Garland on Friday, May 12, then to ranking members of the bicameral judiciary committees on Monday, May 15, late in the afternoon.
The body—Donald Trump’s presidency, i.e., his first term and re-election bid—is long since dead, and, barring a miraculous resurrection, it’s cold-case closed.
So, no charges were proffered, in spite of the fact that, as CNN’s Jake Tapper said, the report was “devastating to the FBI.”
Durham is no dummy. The very ones who plunged in the knife are in power. So, in recommending new charges, not only would Durham suffer, they would be scoffed at. Just like the IRS team investigating Hunter Biden tax fraud charges, all summarily dismissed yesterday; and the Comer-Grassley subpoena to Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray, based on a whistleblower tip, requesting “an unclassified FD-1023 form (describing) an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice president Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions,” blown off.
The Durham investigation was the end of a long road, triggered by that of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which found no evidence of Trump collusion with Russia to steal the 2016 election after which DOJ Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz found goose-egg, as well, summarized in his “Review of Four FISA Applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane Investigation,” issued on December 9, 2019.
Washington certainly does the bureaucratic Titanic deck shuffle well as American democracy goes down. At this point, a rendition of “Nearer My God to Thee,” beautifully performed in A Night to Remember (1953) re-enacting the last song played before the RMS Titanic sank, might be in order. For, all the evident treason at the hands of the American Marxists, is a spiritual wakeup call. If not for this evident treason, the border invasion would be a wild-eyed Hollywood fantasy; family budgets healthier, not squeezed by inflation and threatened by imploding banks; Ukraine unscathed and unbowed; 13 American patriots, who served in Afghanistan in 2021, alive and well; Bagram Air Base safely in American hands, not under Chinese control; Al Quaeda on the run… Our nation’s capital beautiful, not an ugly and unkempt eyesore, a fitting analogy for the national state of affairs.
As Durham kept digging — never mind that much of what he investigated and reported was investigated and reported by Horowitz —the lie kept being told, intel agents brazenly crying “Russian disinformation” wolf vis-à-vis the Hunter Biden “laptop from hell” thereby derailing Trump’s re-election. For polls show, if voters had known Biden was a crook, as seems increasingly evident, they would not have voted for the crook.
“Based on the review of Crossfire Hurricane and related intelligence activities,” the Durham Report intones, “we conclude that the Department and the FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report.”
It was all one big oopsie due to political bias. Oopsie, we forgot to check our partisan allegiance at the door so we just assumed the FISA warrants were sound. But, oopsie, they were not. Boy were they not. To wit:
Our investigation also revealed that senior FBI personnel displayed a serious lack of analytical rigor towards the information that they received, especially information received from politically affiliated persons and entities. This information in part triggered and sustained Crossfire Hurricane and contributed to the subsequent need for Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation. In particular, there was significant reliance on investigative leads provided or funded (directly or indirectly) by Trump’s political opponents. The Department did not adequately examine or question these materials and the motivations of those providing them, even when at about the same time the Director ofthe FBI and others learned of significant and potentially contrary intelligence.
Yes, in spite of all the “seditious treason,” as Chris Plante characterized it, Hillary Clinton had the temerity to go on CBS Sunday Morning on September 29, 2019 and tell Jane Pauley regarding President Trump, “He knows he’s an illegitimate president... I know that he knows that this wasn’t on the level... History will probably sort it all out.”
Stunning. Yet, in spite of our perilous state, given that, as clear-eyed analysis shows, the Marxists are taking over America, there is a solution for what President Trump agrees “you could call treason,” he told Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt.
It’s seems an obvious and critical step. Otherwise we will continue to talk incessantly but never see any decisive action, as we sit, idling, hopeless to move forward and course correct because, by analogy, the Marxists—the ones who have illegitimately wrested power—have thrown sand in the transmission, riding roughshod over, and rendering useless, the U.S. Constitution.
But, there is a way to fix it, as prescribed by Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, which gives the U.S. Congress the power to arrest officials for treason after which the trial would be in the hands of Congress. That’s right. It’s in the U.S. Constitution. To wit:
“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court… The Congress shall have Power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.”
Radical, yes. But, if we hope to resurrect American democracy, one way or another, a dramatic course correction is needed. But the hour is late.
